Welcome Nicholas House Friends! We are pleased that you are interested in volunteer opportunities at Nicholas House. Nicholas House began as a volunteer effort and continues today through the combined efforts of staff and volunteers, working side by side. Nicholas house is where it is today becasuse of friends like you. Your dedication and committement are at the heart of helping our homeless families make the transition to self-sufficiency.
We have many great opportunities for you to make a real difference. Whether volunteering, making a donation or hosting an event, we hope that you will work with Nicholas House to help us raise awareness of the issues homeless families face.
With your commitment comes both rewards and responsibility. As a Nicholas House Volunteer, you will reap the joyful rewards of improving the lives of parents and their children, the benefit of growing as a person and the satisfaction of a job well done. Friends like you can make a difference and help our families to never be homeless again.
We are in need of Volunteers in the following areas:
Front Desk Assistance
Our front desk volunteers are vital to our staff, residents, and community and keep administrative operations flowing smoothly.
Weekdays Afterschool
Each day the children join our afterschool program to finish up their homework and play with their friends. Join them and make a positive impact on a child's life.
Dinner
Last year Nicholas House provided 14,555 meals to homeless families and their children, with the majority of meals being prepared by volunteers.
Nick's Activity Hour
Children engage in fun activities while their parents take on-site courses. Volunteers coordinate activities and supervise.
Interns
Nicholas House works with interns in all areas of the organization. Whether you're interested in grant research or social work, we have a place for you!
